New book chapter on heritage language families' use of technology

The 2018 Yearbook from NORDICOM has been published, entitled "Digital Parenting: The Challenges for Families in the Digital Age", and I am delighted that my chapter "Drawn in all Directions: Heritage Language Families' Use of Technology" is part of the collection. The chapter draws out key findings from my research into how multilingual families use apps in the heritage language to develop language and literacy in the heritage language, and makes a case for working with children to discuss preferences, affordances of different apps, and to share in the playing of apps, in the same way as many families enjoy shared reading practices. The whole book is available freely here.
